June 25th, 2007 Congratulations to the I.O.O.F team on their 2007 League Champioship! Fosters Daily Democrat Game report: http://www.fosters.com/LLGameReport June 22nd, 2007 Well, its down to one last game! It has been a great season in terms of the weather and the general atmosphere (notwithstanding a odd burst of excitement!). I have really enjoyed that last few months, getting to know the kids, the parents and all of those who are or have previously been involved in the league. I am really glad that Dover Little League has been part of your child's spring and hope that you have a great summer. For those 12 year olds who are moving on, best of luck to you in the next age group, and always remember that you are welcome down at the park. For the younger kids, we cannot wait to see you back next year and maybe bring an extra friend or two..! Again, thank you for being a part of the Dover Little League family!
June 1st, 2007 Friday @ 3:09pm.. Radar looks like it going to be close, but we will try and squeeze this one in. Please bring appropriate rain gear just in case..game will be called at first sign of lighting or severe weather. May 21st, 2007 Time is flying by..a little damp tonight, but two very good games were played. We hope that everyone who went to the Fisher Cats had a great time and remembered to hold onto their ticket stubs for the rain cancellation. The 'No Parking - this side of the street' signs went up this weekend as did the two 'handicapped parking' signs. We ask for everyone's co-operation with these new policies. As the weekend approaches, please remember its Picture Day on Saturday.. May 5th, 2007 Wow. You couldn't ask for better weather for an Opening Day. I was very proud of the kids today and their behavior with all the fuss going on around them. Its a pity about the National Anthem, but the girl who was due to sing had the wrong date marked on the calendar. Everything else seemed to go OK with no problems, and we tried to keep it to the point without too many speeches. I was delighted to be able to welcome back Sgt. McNulty to throw out the first pitch. He is an example of the kind courage and leadership we hope all our kids have one day. Spike the Dog kept the younger kids amused, and some frightened, but all seemed to enjoy him. We may see him make some more guest appearance, so keep on the lookout. To anyone and everyone who has helped get us to this point in the season, a very big Thank You! May 2nd, 2007 Big change in the weather! What a difference 24 hours can make to the fields. It made a lot more sense in the long run to miss Monday and with four games played, we are looking good. We hope that you child is enjoying their experience so far with Dover Little League. As always I can be reached by e-mail at president at doverll.org April 30th, 2007 Finally some sun this afternoon. We will wait until game time to see how the fields look before deciding on playing the first set of games. I apologize for this, but hope that you understand. Late update: I am sorry for the very late cancellation tonight, but based on field conditions and with a view to the children's safety I had no choice. I am as excited as everyone else to get some games in and all going well tomorrow we will! April 17th 2007 Wet, Wet, Wet. Wasn't that the name of an 80's band? The fields look sodden tonight, but at least the weekend is looking better. To be fair the fields dry out pretty quick once it does stop raining. We are still on for Field Clean up day. If some of you can bring shovels, rakes, tarps and blowers that would be great. We do have some culverts and roadside drains that need to be unplugged and raked out. There are years of accumulated silt and dirt with grass and weeds grown over quite a few of them. I am planning on having some mulch there on Saturday as we have two flowerbed areas that need attention. Some weeds, but mostly last years dead growth needs to be removed and the beds redressed. The Concession Stand will be finished painted this Friday. We have repainted the interior and replaced the Hot-Dog machine this year. Mr. Scott Picard from PowerPro Electric has been kind enough to replace and bring up to code the receptacles in the Concession Stand. Also, Mr. Jim Berry (Red's Manager) from Berry & Jones Plumbing & Heating has installed a new sink and drainage piping in the same area. Thank you both for you time and effort! April 12th 2007 Dover Little Leagues is pleased to announce that we in the midst of scheduling Inter-League games against teams from Portsmouth, Rye and Somersworth Little Leagues. Your managers will update you as quickly as they can with additional games as necessary. April 10th 2007 We are all doing a Sun dance at this point...come on Spring! 20 days and counting down to the first game.
